Safety is not a given, not in any relationship. We experience as much safety as we are able to co-create whether at home, at work, or in our broader communities. A safe relationship is characterized by authenticity, where individuals feel comfortable being their true selves without fear of judgment, rejection, or violence.

For those of us who want healthy and loving relationships, knowing how to collaboratively co-create safety is key.

In this interactive session, you’ll have a chance to explore the creation of safety in your relationships. Because each of us has our own unique perception and interpretation of safety, co-creating safety requires discussing these similarities and differences between you. You’ll walk away from this session equipped with a better understanding of what safety means to you, a clear approach for how to initiate safety conversations with others, and lessons in nonviolent communication strategies so you can engage with others in a way that promotes healthy and authentic relating even when you don’t know their safety preferences.

“Safety is not the absence of threat but the presence of connection.”
